welcome

Quaint towns are scattered throughout Dorchester County, from the northern agricultural areas to the waterfront villages on three islands encompassed by the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.

To the west of Church Creek are Woolford and then Madison, once called Tobacco Stick. These villages combine rural agricultural life with life of watermen along the Little Choptank River. The waterfront villages on Elliott, Hooper and Taylors Island reflect a simpler way of life. Three quaint farming communities are situated between the Marshy Hope Creek and the Nanticoke River; Brookview, Eldorado and Galestown.

And then there’s Dorchester’s largest town and county seat, Cambridge, which is in the midst of an exciting renaissance. Half the fun is meandering, exploring new places, and meeting new people. Enjoy!
