Deer Hunting Trail

Dorchester County, Maryland is part of Maryland’s Deer Hunting Trail, Maryland’s Eastern Shore is well known for its beaches, goose hunting and white marlin, but it’s also a hotspot for white-tailed deer and a haven for the elusive sika deer. (Read more about sika deer hunting.)

The trail – organized by Fish & Hunt Maryland – includes these Dorchester County locations:

Fishing Bay Wildlife Management Area (WMA): The area’s expansive tidal marshlands transition into low, wetland forests and island hummocks that offer one of the best public land opportunities to pursue Sika deer.

Chesapeake Forest Lands: See a map of public hunting opportunities in the Chesapeake Forest Lands. See directions to each site in Dorchester County.
