Step aboard a living piece of Chesapeake Bay history with Tides & Traditions, a locally rooted charter boat experience offering sunset cruises, private charters, custom outings, crabbing adventures, and seasonal sea duck hunts on the waters of Dorchester County and the Chesapeake Bay.
At the heart of the experience is the Lois Ann, a classic Chesapeake Bay deadrise built in 1973 on Tilghman Island (Maryland) by noted boatbuilder Maynard Lowery. Originally crafted for Richard and Lois Ann Lednum, the boat spent decades working the Bay. Lois Ann herself worked the water alongside her husband, culling crabs, running lines, sorting catches, and helping earn a living from the Chesapeake.
Now, after more than four years of careful restoration, the Lois Ann has been brought back with a new purpose: welcoming guests aboard to slow down, take in the beauty of the Bay, and connect with the working traditions that have shaped life on Maryland’s Eastern Shore for generations.
Whether you’re looking for a golden-hour cruise, a hands-on crabbing experience with the family, a relaxed day on the water, or a customized private charter, Tides & Traditions offers meaningful, memorable experiences with local captains and a deep respect for the Chesapeake’s natural beauty and maritime heritage.
