Thunder on the Choptank Powerboat Races

Bring the family for two days of boat racing – the American Power Boat Regatta Association (APBA) Eastern Divisionals – and experience speed on the water on the Choptank River. 

The best viewing area is from the banks of Gerry Boyle Park at Great Marsh in Cambridge, Maryland. Spectators can watch the racing classes, including hydroplanes and jersey speed skiffs, from the bleachers, the park grounds, or from their own boats rafted at Rooster Point. In addition to great powerboat racing, food will be available from Hooked on Seafood, sweet treats from Amy's Cool Ice Cream Express, and drinks from the CPBRA beer wagon (domestic and craft beer, crushes, soda, and water).

Racing will start at 11:30am each day.  Admission is free but there is a $5 parking donation

Free admission for watching. $5 per car for parking.

Racing runs about 11:30am to 5pm both Aug 29 and 30, 2026.

Bleacher seating will be available or bring your own chairs. No coolers allowed.
