With its pines and tidal marsh, this 920-acre Nature Conservancy preserve is a birder’s delight, with undisturbed waterfowl habitat and a sanctuary for bald eagles. May is the best time for birdwatching, when migration is at a peak; summer brings a proliferation of flowering plants and marsh grasses (and a lot of biting insects, so be prepared). In fall, see migrating birds, especially warblers and puddle ducks. There is a 1.25-mile, one-way nature trail, and the preserve is open year-round.
