Living History Program at HTURSP

Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park & Visitors Center 4068 Golden Hill Road, Church Creek

Marvin-Alonzo Greer, lead Historic Interpreter for the Maryland-National Capital Parks and Planning Commission is performing at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park Pavilion on Friday, October 8th from 3-4pm. Mr. Greer’s program is called Bound for Freedom: Stories and Songs of Black Liberation. He will share how enslaved people used songs and stories to teach resistance. These stories and songs of resistance inspired thousands in their fight for freedom in the age of slavery.

The Harriet Tubman Museum & Educational Center hosts a showing of the film "Harriet" As the museum notes, "While there’s Hollywood dramatization, it’s a good depiction of her journey and the people in her life." Join in the second Friday evening of the month for Movie Night, popcorn, and discussion.
