Choptank Heritage Skipjack Race

Long Wharf 2 Yacht Club Dr, Cambridge

There's a parade of boats at 9am followed by the race at 10am. Best viewing is from Long Wharf Park, at High and Water Streets in Cambridge, Maryland. The Bay was once home to thousands of skipjacks; today fewer than 20 skipjacks still sail and only two skipjack races survive.

Oyster Reef Ball Build

Sailwinds Park 2 Rose Hill Place, Cambridge

ShoreRivers and the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Maryland are seeking volunteers of all ages to help construct oyster reef balls that will be placed in the Choptank River to create underwater habitat. Oyster Reef Balls are concrete reefs that oysters and other organisms grow on.

Duck Race Festival

Sailwinds West Governors Hall 200 Byrn Street, Cambridge

Join in the fun at the first ever Duck Race Festival on September 25 at 10:30, winning ducks will get amazing prizes! In addition to the race, animals from the Salisbury Zoo will be there, face painting, basketball shoot out, corn hole, a moon bounce and music by Mike Elzey. 

Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10

Johnny’s Tavern 1st Annual Bike Show

Come one, come all to Johnny's Tavern on September 25th. They will be hosting their 1st annual bike show. If you have been to their spring car show, the Bike Show will be just as fun and entertaining. Bird Dog and the Road Kings will be rocking this event and you can visit their Facebook page for updates.

Blue-toberfest at Blue Ruin

Want the German experience in small town Cambridge, Maryland? Blue Ruin is bringing its version of Oktoberfest to town on September 25 at 4pm! They will be cooking up some exceptional German cuisine, and will have a wide array of German beers to go along with it. With a live band outside and staff dressed in their best Oktoberfest get-ups, this is a night you don't want to miss.

They will also be having a Das Boot Challenge to support the Dorchester Santa Toy Drive. If you and your buddies can chug a beer, contact paul@blueruinbar.com to enter the contest. Teams must include four people. The entry fee is $30 per team and includes four das boots and complimentary beer the entire night. Half of proceeds will benefit the Toy Drive. The winning team will receive a special Blue Ruin Das Boot Trophy.
