MHAA FY2025 Grant Round Open

It’s time to begin planning heritage projects in Dorchester County’s Heart of Chesapeake Country Heritage Area (HCCHA). The Maryland Heritage Areas Authority FY2025 grant round for capital and non-capital heritage tourism projects is now open.

MHAA provides matching grants to nonprofit organizations and government entities up to $50,000 for non-capital projects and up to $100,000 for capital projects located within a Certified Heritage Area. Grants can support projects involving historical, cultural or natural resources, sites, events or facilities. Eligible must begin in or after July 2024 projects and must have a heritage tourism component or contribute to research that will directly inform a heritage tourism product.

Intent to Apply Deadline

Eligible applicants can begin the required first step in the application process by filling out the Intent to Apply form, which is due by 11:59 p.m. on January 26, 2024. Following the Intent to Apply deadline, final grant applications from nonprofits and governmental organizations in the HCCHA are due March 4, 2024.
