A component of this symposium is an outreach event which will expose middle and high school girls (6th-12th grades) to STEM resources, role models, and activities. We are bringing together researchers from a number of STEM institutions to inspire middle and high school girls to become our next generation of scientists and engineers. SWMS Saturday is a 3.5-hour event at the Horn Point Laboratory on Saturday, September 14th from 8:30-12pm. Girls will rotate through activities led by local researchers throughout the morning, with each activity representing a different STEM field. The event will be an opportunity to develop mentorships with female scientists and will prepare girls for futures in STEM.
