In recognition of the courage and strength, of Harriet Tubman, the folks at the Harriet Tubman Under Ground Rail Road Visitor Center are hosting a day of events that focus on Tubman’s strength, courage and the importance of freedom. So join them on, September 14th from 10am to 4pm, in a day of festivities starting with ranger led programs at 10am lasting until 11am, in the multi-purpose room. At 1pm Dorchester native Renna Mckinny will perform in the outdoor pavilion. Following that, will be remarks from special guests before the public premier of the Visitor Center’s new orientation film “Harriet Tubman: Soldier of Freedom,” at 2pm. They will conclude with a presentation by Tubman scholar and biographer Dr. Kate Clifford Larson at 3pm. All programs and events are family-friendly and free of charge.
