Kick off the season with the annual Christmas tree lighting on Saturday, Nov. 25 in downtown Cambridge, Maryland — and bring the family! The festive evening includes music by the Cambridge-South Dorchester band and chorus, a visit from Santa Claus, cookies and hot cider, and Christmas cheer. And free glowsticks for kids while supplies last! The event begins at 5:30pm at Spring Valley, located by the Dorchester County Courthouse at High and Church Streets in Cambridge, Maryland. Come early — all day on Saturday downtown shops and restaurants will be celebrating Small Business Saturday with specials and sales. And you can stay late to stop into the Cambridge Rescue Fire Department’s Christmas Train Garden, which should be up and running by Nov. 25. The train display is in the old firehouse at 307 Gay Street.
