Join an expert birder for a guided bird watching trip through Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Whether you are an experienced birder or just a beginner, their guides will help you enjoy the many species of birds that live in or migrate through the refuge. Remember to bring your binoculars and field guides, and be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. These birding trips are usually led by either Harry Armistead or Terry Allen, and may last 3 to 4 hours. The birding party usually car pools, stopping at various points around the refuge’s Wildlife Drive. There is no cost for this activity, and no preregistration is required.
All birding trips begin at 8am from the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 2145 Key Wallace Drive in Cambridge, Maryland. Call 410-901-6124 for further information.
