Eastern Shore of Maryland Veterans Cemetery will be hosting the annual wreath laying ceremony on Saturday, December 14 at 6827 East New Market Elwood Road in Hurlock, MD. There will be a “Welcoming of the Wreaths” ceremony at 9am. Perdue will be delivering the wreaths to the cemetery on the morning of the event escorted by the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Department, Hurlock Fire Department, Maryland State Police, Iron Legacy Motorcycle Club, Hogs and Hero’s Motorcycle Club, and maybe others. The laying of the wreaths begins at 10am. Find updates on their Facebook page.

Thanks to many donations, all 7,900 graves will have a wreath for the second year in a row.

National Wreaths Across America Day is observed on the second Saturday of December. Designated by Congress, National Wreath Across America Day is a movement to cover all Veterans grave markers with a Christmas Wreath. “Remember. Honor. Teach.” This is the mission of Wreaths Across America. By coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at cemeteries around the country Wreaths Across America strives to remember our fallen heroes, honor those who serve and teach our children about the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms.

Come Join us as we lay a wreath on the graves of our fallen heroes.
