The 11th Annual Black History Celebration will be held on Feb. 1 at the historic IBPOEW Elks Lodge, 218 Pine Street, Cambridge, Maryland. The theme this year is “The Legacy & Heritage of African-American History Past, Present, & Future.”

Dr. Larry White, Sr., chairman of VIPeVENTS Concierge, has assembled a plethora of professional speakers and VIP guests from around the country. This one-day event is designed to encourage, empower, and equip emerging entrepreneurs, small business owners, professionals and community leaders in efforts to come together network and have casual conversations to share resources, contacts, and strategies that help support each other’s career and business goals. The event offers a range of memberships, partnership opportunities, advice and health tips – all designed to help propel members and event attendees to the next level of their professional objectives.

This event is also designed to empower and educate community leaders and activists and their families to work in unity for the better good of the community. This event is free and open to the public with a concentration on economic development on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Cambridge Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. The keynote speaker this is Sylvia Koonce. A native of North Carolina, Sylvia grew up understanding what it means to be a diamond in the rough, unaware in her younger years that her uniqueness would be the driving force in pursuing her passion for young women in need of physical, emotional, and spiritual wholeness

Dr. Larry White, Sr., who will be the host for the event, recently became a bestselling author and entrepreneur. Other noted speakers are Dr. Tasheka Green, a prominent educator, consultant, bestselling author and entrepreneur in the Washington, D.C., region, and Dion Banks, an Army veteran, community leader and nonpProfit guru. Also attending will be the Honorable Tajala Battle-Lockhart, Mary Mitchell, Natalie Degraffinreaidt, David Hayden and Michelle Hammond – all business leaders who make a significant difference throughout the country.
