Glenn Bramble will be the first speaker of the 2024 season to discuss the history of the Brambles, Pritchetts, Wingates and Todds who were the first four families that settled in South Dorchester.
Glenn states “As my mother was a Pritchett, I did some research on the descendants on both sides of the family. I have researched back to the 1700’s for both Bramble and Pritchett ancestors and found it very interesting how different family names are tied together”. H will have several family pictures and photos of old structures including grave markers located in remote areas of South Dorchester.
The South Dorchester Folk Museum (SDFM), in cooperation with the Dorchester County Historical Society, presents this FREE program in its lecture series about local history. For more information about the SDFM, visit their website, www.sdfmuseum.net, or call 410-228-6175.
