Reading Social

The Reading Social is a monthly event that encourages reading for youth from birth-12. The focus is on improving literacy and building home libraries for children. The program is 2 hours; and during that time, children receive a healthy snack, reading support, and an art activity. Children have the option of reading or being read to. Young readers are encouraged to tell stories based on the pictures in the book, and each child gets to choose a book to take home to begin building their home library.  Reading Socials are in Cambridge on 1st Saturdays and in Hurlock on 2nd Saturdays. Those dates may vary based on holidays.

There will also be a blanket give away during the reading social.

Volunteers are encouraged to apply. Please be aware that background checks are required when working with youth. Contact info@harvestinghopeinc.org.
