ShoreRivers and the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Maryland are seeking volunteers of all ages to help construct oyster reef balls that will be placed in the Choptank River to create underwater habitat. Oyster Reef Balls are concrete reefs that oysters and other organisms grow on.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help construct reef balls that will be placed in the Choptank River. The final Oyster Reef Ball Build of the season is Sept. 25 and 26 at Sailwinds Park in Cambridge (200 Byrn St.). The reef balls will be placed under the Bill Burton Fishing Pier in the Choptank River. Volunteers can attend one or both days. All ages are welcome. There will also be music, lawn games, and more.
