DESCRIPTION:Responding to a need in the field\, Maryland Museums Associatio
 n\napplied for and received funding from competitive grant programs at\nth
 e Maryland Heritage Areas Authority and Preservation Maryland to\ncommissi
 on an economic impact study of Maryland’s museum sector. \nMMA selected 
 Parker Strategy Group to complete the project as expert\nconsultant. Throu
 gh this contract with Parker Strategy Group\, MMA will\nmeasure and interp
 ret the statewide and local economic contributions\nof museums\, contextua
 lize these findings within related industries\n(e.g.\, tourism\, recreatio
 n\, revitalization)\, and provide a final\nreport suitable for widespread 
 use and distribution for industry\nreference\, public awareness\, legislat
 ive advocacy\, and/or goal-setting\npurposes. \nEach 1.5 hour meeting will
  include a brief presentation by Parker\nStrategy Group about existing imp
 act data and early survey results\,\nfollowed by a facilitated discussion 
 to bring to light the impact and\nneeds of Maryland's museums. \nAll are w
 elcome to attend one or more sessions. RSVP appreciated but\nnot required.
