Stop #8 on the Harriet Tubman ByWay. Come and enjoy a Spring afternoon on the grounds of the Historic Malone’s Chapel Church grounds. Beginning in the 1790’s a small free black community was established in the area. Malone’s Chapel was the first African American church established at the end of the Civil War to serve the area residents. There will be drumming, African dancers, musical performances, food, vendors, and more. There will be historical re-enactments, including a tribute to Civil War Veterans at Malone’s by the 3rd U.S. Colored Troops re-enactors. This is a free event. In the event of rain the event will be held at the Madison Fire Hall. Call 410-463-1018 for more information. E-mail address, harrisvillemalone2@gmail.com
