 of the\nsigning of the Declaration of Independence\, then look no further.
 \nBlackwater National Wildlife Refuge is hosting the Eagle Festival on\nSa
 turday\, March 14\, 2026\, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. This free\,\nfamily-fr
 iendly event focuses on bald eagles\, with educational\nprograms and exhib
 its featuring live birds and reptiles\, hands-on\nactivities\, and refuge 
 tours.\n\nPrograms in the big tent will kick off at 9:30 am with naturalis
 t Jim\nWilson as he shares the magnificent world of owls.\n\nAt 11:00 am\,
  and again at 2:30 pm\, naturalist Mike Callahan of\nNanjemoy Creek Enviro
 nmental Education Center presents an interactive\nprogram with live birds 
 focusing on bald eagles and other native\nraptors of Maryland.\n\nAt 12:30
  pm\, learn about falconry and the healing power of nature with\nthis inte
 ractive program by Master Falconer Rodney Stotts.\n\nLive birds of prey an
 d reptiles will be on display throughout the\nVisitor Center\, with exhibi
 ts from the Salisbury Zoo\, Nanjemoy Creek\nEnvironmental Education Center
 \, and Maryland Scales and Tales.\n\nGuided tours will be available throug
 hout the day\, including eagle\nprowls and tours of Wildlife Drive. Regist
 ration for tours will begin\nat 9:30 am the day of the festival (no pre-re
 gistration).\n\n“Early birds” to the Eagle Festival can meet at the re
 fuge’s\nEnvironmental Education Building on Wildlife Drive at 8:00 am fo
 r a\nguided birding tour with Terry Allen.\n\nThere will be no shortage of
  fun for children at the Eagle Festival.\nActivities include build-your-ow
 n wren nesting boxes\, owl pellet\nexploration\, face painting\, and make-
 your-own wildlife buttons\, bird\nmasks and postcards. Kids’ “make-and
 -take” activities will run\nthroughout the day while supplies last. Kids
  can also try their skills\nat a youth archery range and the National Wild
  Turkey Federation’s\nBB gun range.In addition\, families can enjoy a 
 “StoryWalk®” along\nthe Woods Trail with the picture book “Over in 
 The Forest.\n\n”Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughou
 t the day\,\nprovided by Boy Scout Troop 532.\n\nPrograms and activities t
 ake place at the Blackwater National Wildlife\nRefuge Visitor Center as we
